SEO & AI Research
Discover profitable keywords and trending topics using AI-powered research that analyzes both Google and AI search engines.
What is SEO & AI Research?
Our research tools help you find what people are searching for on Google and what they're asking AI chatbots like ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity. Get search volumes, competitor insights, and AI-powered topic clusters in one comprehensive report.
âąī¸ Estimated Time: 8 minutes
đ Prerequisites:
- An active project created in your account
- At least 1 SEO research credit in your quota
- A competitor's website URL (optional but recommended)
Step 1: Navigate to SEO Research
From your dashboard, click "SEO & AI Research" in the sidebar. This opens the keyword research tool where you can discover profitable topics for your content.

You'll see the research form where you can enter your topics and configure your search parameters.
Step 2: Enter Your Topics and Keywords
Start by entering keywords or topics you want to research. You can add multiple keywords to get comprehensive results:
- Broad Topics: "content marketing", "local SEO", "email automation"
- Long-Tail Keywords: "best coffee makers for small offices"
- Question Phrases: "how to start a podcast"
- Industry Terms: "SaaS marketing strategies"

đĄ PRO TIP: Start with 2-5 seed keywords. Our AI will automatically find 50-100+ related keywords from your competitors and Google's database to give you comprehensive research results.
Next, enter a competitor's website URL:
Adding a competitor domain helps us find keywords they rank for that you might be missing. Enter just the domain (e.g., "example.com" or "blog.example.com").
âšī¸ NOTE: The competitor URL is optional, but recommended. It helps find keyword opportunities you may have overlooked.
Step 3: Configure Location and Language
Select where your target audience is located and what language they speak:
- Location: Choose the country or region (e.g., United States, United Kingdom, Australia)
- Language: Select the language for search results (e.g., English, Spanish, French)

đĄ PRO TIP: For local businesses, select the specific country where you operate. Search volumes and competition levels vary significantly by location.
Once you've entered your keywords and configured your settings, click the "Find Topics" button to start the research.
Step 4: Understanding the Research Process
After clicking "Find Topics", our AI performs a comprehensive 4-step research process:
Step 1: Keyword Enrichment (15-30 seconds)
We analyze your seed keywords and find 50-100+ related keywords using three professional SEO data sources: Related Keywords, Keyword Ideas, and your competitor's ranking keywords.
Step 2: Google Search Data (30-60 seconds)
We fetch search volume data from Google Ads and analyze the top 10 organic results for high-volume keywords to understand what content ranks well.
Step 3: AI Search Volume (45-90 seconds)
We query 5 major AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, DeepSeek) to measure how often people are asking about these topics in AI chatbots.
Step 4: AI Clustering (15-30 seconds)
Our AI groups related keywords into 3-7 topic clusters, making it easy to plan content that covers entire subject areas comprehensively.

âšī¸ NOTE: The total research time is typically 2-4 minutes. You can leave the page and return later - your research will continue in the background.
Step 5: Reviewing Your Research Results
Once complete, you'll see your results in three tabs:
đ Summary Tab (Topic Clusters)
This is your main view. Keywords are organized into topic clusters (usually 3-7 clusters), each containing related keywords. Each cluster shows:
- Top 10 Google keywords with search volumes
- Top 10 AI keywords with citation counts
- Total search volumes across all platforms
- Content recommendations for that topic
đ¤ AI Search Volume Tab
See how often people ask about each keyword in AI chatbots. This helps you create content that appears in ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI responses.
đ Google Search Volume Tab
Traditional Google search data showing monthly search volumes, ranking difficulty, and what currently ranks on page 1 for each keyword.

đĄ PRO TIP: Focus on the Summary tab for content planning. The topic clusters show you how to organize articles that comprehensively cover related keywords, which ranks better in both Google and AI search.
Step 6: Selecting Topics for SERP Analysis
After reviewing your clusters, select the ones you want to analyze deeper. SERP (Search Engine Results Page) Analysis shows you:
- What content currently ranks on page 1
- Word counts and content structure of top articles
- What questions people ask about this topic
- AI recommendations for creating better content
To select topics for deeper analysis:
- Click the checkbox next to each cluster you want to analyze
- Select 1-3 clusters (analyzing too many at once spreads your content too thin)
- Click "Research Top Rankings" at the top

âšī¸ NOTE: Each SERP Analysis uses AI credits and takes 3-5 minutes to complete. Focus on topics with high search volume and relevance to your business for the best ROI.
After clicking "Save & Generate Analysis", the system creates SERP sources for your selected topics. You'll be redirected to the SERP Analysis page where you can review detailed competitive insights.
Step 7: Understanding Search Volume Metrics
Our research shows two types of search volume to help you prioritize topics:
Google Search Volume
What it means: How many times per month people search for this keyword on Google.
How to use it: Higher volumes mean more potential traffic, but also more competition. Look for keywords with 500+ monthly searches that match your business goals.
AI Search Volume
What it means: How often AI chatbots mention or recommend content about this topic when users ask questions.
How to use it: High AI search volume means your content could appear in ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity answers, reaching millions of AI users.
đĄ PRO TIP: The best keywords have BOTH high Google search volume AND high AI search volume. These topics are trending across all search platforms, giving you maximum visibility.
